In a bizarre turn of events a woman survives being stuck for 5 days in her freezer.
The woman, Theresa Christian, 59 might have been trying to escape the very tornadoes that she thought were going to hit her house when she apparently went into her freezer seeking shelter from the inclement weather.
The freezer, according to ABC News had no locks or latches that were engaged so it is unclear why she was simply not able to get out of her own accord.
It is thought that she has been inside the freezer since Friday or Saturday.
She was discovered when her son came looking for her apparently since he was unable to reach her.
She was reported missing on Saturday and found Wednesday by her son.
It has not been disclosed if her home was checked our previously by police between Saturday and Wednesday.
What seems a bit “off” is that her son Jermal Stewart told KRMG’s Russell that he could not get a hold of anyone in the maintenance department at the propertly from when he reported his mother missing on Saturday until the time he was let in on Wednesday.
When her did arrive at the home on Wednesday, Stewart said that he heard moaning coming from the vicinity of the freezer and found his mother in very bad condition.
Tulsa World News reports that there is evidence suggesting that, at some point, Christian may have tried to climb out of the freezer because the lid was apparently open when her son found her.
They are also considering the possibility that medication Christian may have taken affected her cognitive abilities.
She was transported to a hospital in severe condition and with severe frostbite on her legs.
Due to her being reportedly incoherent, police have not been able to ascertain exactly what happened.
No signs of foul play were found although the case in still under investigation.
